He carried on this role when he joined Derbyshire LOC in 2012 along with starting their Social media communications. The lure of Suffolk proved too strong (and his wife did not want to move to wet and rainy Ireland) and he rejoined the committee in 2014. Peter studied at Cardiff university and qualified in July 2003. In a varied career, he has worked in over 60 different sites across East Anglia and the Midlands, across most sectors of the profession. He currently works for Evolutio ophthalmology, Ipswich and Dunstone Optometry, Hadleigh.

Peter’s main ambition is for all opticians to have an enjoyable variety and balance to their working day, and hopes the LOC can support every practice in achieving this.

Outside of work, he is married with four young children and has no more hair to lose. He has keen interest in football but now talks a much better game than he plays, and has reluctantly accepted that neither Liverpool nor Ipswich are going to sign him up..
